The Philadelphia Orchestra and the St. Bartholomew's Monumental Pipe Organ
To highlight St. Bartholomew's monumental 12,422 pipe organ, St. Bartholomew's Conservancy presented a Gala Organ Concert on May 24, 2022 with The Philadelphia Orchestra, conducted by David Robertson, organist Paolo Bordignon and countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo.
The repertoire traversed the 16th - 20th centuries, and showcased this spectacular musical instrument distinguished by its provenance, its installation in the walls of the building, and its "Celestial Division" housed in the beautifully restored Great Dome of St. Bartholomew's Church, a National Historic Landmark.
